My Story

I wrote 3 LONG posts covering many details of how I got where I am as of the start of this blog – April 2012.

To briefly summarize: I grew up as the overweight person in an average size family.  I’ve always loved food and as I went through junior high/high school it became a way to cope and escape negative thoughts/feelings.  The bad habits followed me to college.  In the middle of my fourth year of undergrad I hit 290lbs and decided to lose the weight.  It took me less than one year to drop 100lbs.  Over the next 7 years I slowly put every last pound back on.  Now I am ready to do it all again and then some.

  1. Wow I just followed a link over here and I must say, you wrote your story out so well and so much of it I can relate to. Congrats on finishing up with school.. your little boy is adorable!! Definitely look forward to reading upcoming blog posts. My fiance and I moved to cincinnati from chicago two years ago. How I miss it so!!

    • Thanks Frances!! and thanks on saying Preston is cute :) I think so too ;) I’m happy to have found another reader and blogger so that I can find more recipes and ideas about slimming down :)

  2. Just read your story. I can relate! I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. I’ve been skinny. I’ve been fat (ok, almost 300 lbs fat, not just kind of fat!) and I’m really tired of it too. I’ve lost and gained 100s of pounds in my lifetime. It’s kind of a nightmare. Can’t wait to read more about your journey! I don’t have the guts to blog about what really matters…so I blog about mundane things but hope to start blogging about my REAL feelings about this weight.

    • Well thanks for commenting. I hate to think about how many pounds I’ve lost over my whole lifetime, but then I also hate to think about what I’d weigh if I never lost some of what I put on!!! Best of luck to you in your journey!!! Thanks for following mine!
